The following compiled missives from the CEO constitute a Project Mandate.

We need to get our act together on fixing the intranet staff website ASAP. This is all motivated by a short-term need to improve processes for how we manage project and contracts and a parallel medium-term need to fix what is essentially a dysfunctional staff website when it comes to finding common forms and procedures. It is an embarrassment that we are ISO certified, tech-whizes at almost everything, but our staff website is …. (choose your expletive).

I'll give you warning now of what I'm requiring, which is that we make fixing the intranet a proper project; using PRINCE methodology, which means stakeholder engagement, a clear plan/timetable, sprints/milestones and a deadline to have it all done by the end of June to stakeholder satisfaction.
